About Dwell with Dignity

Dwell with Dignity is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to help families escape poverty and homelessness through design, one family at a time. We partner with the interior design industry and social services agencies to provide home furnishings to families who have managed to obtain permanent housing, but do not have the funds to purchase the many items needed to make their new residence a home, including all furniture, art, bedding, kitchen supplies, food in the pantry and their first night’s meal. With the assistance that DwD provides, a huge burden is lifted from the families we serve. They can now focus on their jobs, their children and their futures. Academics improve. Play dates are made. Plans are made for birthdays, holiday gatherings and family dinners, setting the stage for breaking the cycle of poverty and setting up future generations for success. www.dwellwithdignity.org

ALG Collective is a working artist studio and showroom located in the heart of the Dallas Design District. It is made up of all female entrepreneurs who actively celebrate collaboration over competition, because “we believe a rising tide lifts all boats.” www.algcollective.com

Dallas-based glass artist Anna Curnes and showroom owner plays with fire and sharp objects as she fuses, blows, and sculpts glass. Having studied with masters like Rebecca Johnson, Joseph Ivacic, Mark Mitsuda and Diego Bottacin, she’s fluent in the fluidity of glass. Her artwork is trial by fire, creating beauty from brokenness to help you see yourself with grace, uplift your spirit, and infuse beauty and strength into all of your favorite spaces. @AnnaLouGlass

Native Texan, Melissa Ellis, specializes in bold, sculptural oil paintings. She loves to play with color to create brilliant patterns in her work by applying thick oil paint to the canvas with her unique style of palette knife painting. Often described as “organized chaos,” Melissa’s work is a dichotomous celebration of spontaneity through highly-calculated and meticulous methods used to create motion, shadows, patterns, texture and depth in each of her paintings. @MelissaEllisArt

Hailing from the North Shore of Oahu, Annie Griffeth is a multi-faceted artist who infuses magical realism with island-inspired pop art. Social issues, transformative life events, and everyday joys and challenges are given a unique voice as she celebrates all that makes life extraordinary. Steeped in symbolism, Annie’s work is an extension of her love for storytelling. She creates acrylic and oil paintings with paper and gold leaf details, as well as pen and ink drawings. @AnnieGriffeth

Christi Meril is a Dallas-based contemporary artist who creates abstract mixed media works on canvas, wood, and paper. By combining mediums such as acrylic, ink, pastel, and charcoal she achieves vibrant color, movement and texture that create message and inspiration in each original piece of art. As an artist, it is Christi’s goal for her work to bring light, optimism, challenge and beauty to each and every space it calls home. @ChristiMerilArt
