Dwell with Dignity Launches Thrift Studio LIVE

With the postponement of the Thrift Studio luxury home furnishings pop-up store that was to launch tonight, Dwell with Dignity announces a new concept that lives in the digital air space and respects social-distancing. Thrift Studio LIVE is an online auction found at www.thriftstudio.com/live featuring new, unique home décor items weekly. Designer lamps, sofas, coffee tables, bedding, artwork and more will be introduced every Monday beginning April 6th on Dwell with Dignity’s Facebook and Instagram pages before being showcased for online bidding. 100 percent of proceeds will benefit Dwell with Dignity’s mission to transform lives through design for those struggling with homelessness and poverty.

The postponed month-long Thrift Studio pop-up raises about $400,000, or 40 percent of the non-profit’s annual revenue. In the interim, Thrift Studio LIVE will help raise much-needed funds for the daily operations and future projects of Dwell with Dignity until the pop-up takes place (dates TBD). Currently, Dwell with Dignity has eight homes in need of furnishings including the new state-of-the-art learning and community center for New Friends, New Life, a non-profit that provides a safe haven to formerly trafficked girls and sexually exploited women and children.

Says Dwell with Dignity Executive Director Ashley Sharp, “To say that we are currently living in unprecedented times is a gross understatement. Our mission is more significant now than ever before. Everyone deserves a beautiful, functional, comfortable home, especially in a time when you can’t leave your dwelling.”

About Dwell with Dignity

Dwell with Dignity is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to help families escape poverty and homelessness through design, one family at a time. We partner with the interior design industry and social services agencies to provide home furnishings to families who have managed to obtain permanent housing, but do not have the funds to purchase the many items needed to make their new residence a home, including all furniture, art, bedding, kitchen supplies, food in the pantry and their first night’s meal. With the assistance that DwD provides, a huge burden is lifted from the families we serve. They can now focus on their jobs, their children and their futures. Academics improve. Play dates are made. Plans are made for birthdays, holiday gatherings and family dinners, setting the stage for breaking the cycle of poverty and setting up future generations for success. www.dwellwithdignity.org
