Public Relations Internship and Externship Positions Available
FMPR (www.friedmanpr.com), a Dallas-based boutique public relations firm specializing in lifestyle, consumer-oriented clients for the past 15 years, seeks college students majoring in Communications, Marketing or Journalism or recent college graduates to fulfill part-time internship/externship positions. The paid position is a minimum of 15 office hours per week in addition to attendance at select client events.
The intern/extern will receive a very hands-on working experience in all aspects of the industry not often provided by large agencies. The position will focus on routine public relations responsibilities for various clients as well as the marketing and promotion of FMPR.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Writing, developing, and distributing press materials
Updating media data base and on-line newsletter lists
Managing media clippings
Social Media
Creating on-line newsletters through Constant Contact or Mail Chimp
Brainstorming grassroots marketing and media campaigns
Following-up with local media on select story pitches
Contacting local organizations and businesses for cross-marketing efforts
Assist in coordinating and attending special events
Preparing and coordinating media drops
Labeling and distributing photos to society media
Attending client meetings, media interviews and photo shoots
Assist with account administration duties including billing and activity reports
Candidate Requirements:
Strong organizational and writing skills
Familiar with various social media channels
Detail-oriented, articulate, creative, self-starter, and enthusiastic
Willing to work some nights and weekends
Community-savvy about the various charities, culture, dining, and nightlife scene offered in the DFW area.

The home office is located in the Oak Lawn neighborhood. The intern/extern is considered a representative of FMPR and should dress and act accordingly.
